Releasing My Inner “Culinary Adventurer”
Wednesday, December 2, 2009
I have decided that you can make nachos using any ingredient. For example...today I was having trouble deciding whether I was in the mood for some Mexican or some Greek-style food. My solution? Spread store-bought tortilla chips on a plate, sprinkle with shredded cheese (I happened to have colby jack blend), top with cooked, crumbled/cubed Mushroom Lover’s Veggie Burgers from Morningstar Farm, microwave for one minute, top with lettuce, Greek dressing and Feta. I wonder about combining Nachos and Chinese food...hmmm. See? Never a dull moment in the world of nacho exloration.
My next foray may well be into the world of dessert nachos. Think: cinnamon baked flour tortillas, roasted apples, caramel, topped with Marcapone cheese and sprinkled with pecans...I may even start a restaurant like Simply Crepes or the Melting Pot but it will be ALL about Nachos :) Although what you would call a restaurant like that...Nacho Average Restaurant? Tortilla Galleria? Holy Nachos, Batman? Oh, the possibilities! The real fun would be coming up with clever menu names. I can see it now (cue bad elevator-esque music and herald the angels).

My inner wild woman has no name. She simply comes and goes as she pleases, often giving way to my inner crazy woman simultaneously. My inner wild woman answers the door without a bra (Sorry C!), starts a blog, and belts out nonsense songs to the tune of Yankee Doodle...all in the span of an hour...maybe two. My inner wild woman is impulsive, often impudent, and blissfully oblivious. She comes when I am comfortable, when I am with people who understand her and do not slink away at her off-color jokes, fashion and “societal norm” faux pas. She tells crude jokes, sings about butts and occasionally breaks into strange dance. She is my inner wild woman, and she is my friend. :)
